Huawei Ascend G 300 now on Vodafone Ireland

If you’ve not heard of this phone, listen up. This is a sweet little number and easily the best android phone in its price class. It’s got a 4inch screen (coated in Gorilla Glass) and at a res of 480 x 800. It’s got a nice 1ghz processor and 512mb RAM. It’s currently running Android 2.3, but getting Android 4 shortly. It’s got a nice big battery, and 5mp camera. I’ve briefly used one and really enjoyed using it and how it felt in the hand.

Huawei, a global telecoms leader and an exciting new brand in smartphones, has launched its Huawei Ascend G 300 smartphone with Vodafone Ireland, offering unmatched power and functionality in its class.

The Ascend G 300 is part of Huawei’s expanding Ascend family of smartphones. It runs the Android ‘Gingerbread’ 2.3 operating system, upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich later in the summer. It also features Huawei’s own unique Android platform, allowing fast one-step access to dedicated applications from the unlock screen, and a suite of widgets for entertainment, social networking and organisational functions.

The Ascend G 300 combines a large 4-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen, a powerful 1GHz processor and a durable1500mAh battery to offer consumers a high-quality entertainment experience, and enable such services as catch-up TV and advanced mobile gaming. It comes with a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, flash and 4x digital zoom, and 2GB on-board memory.

The Ascend G 300 is the first Huawei-branded smartphone to launch on the Vodafone Ireland network, and supports Huawei’s strategy to be among the top global smartphone brands. It is currently available in all Vodafone retail stores and can also be purchased online.
