CES 2012: Nokia Lumia 900 Unveiled
It looks like the rumours were true, Nokia lifted the veil on their newest Windows Phone – The Lumia 900 during their keynote event at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas today.
The device is very similar to the Lumia 800 but as expected will have a bigger screen, 4.3 inches compared to the 800′s 3.7 inch display. The screen will make use of Nokia’s ClearBlack AMOLED display and Nokia have claimed that the 900 will be capable of a brighter display without draining the battery too much.
The device looks quite similar to the Lumia 800 too, which is a good thing, being also crafted from the same poly-carbonate plastic and coming in the same black and cyan colours – no sign of magenta.
Inside the 900 is a 1.4GHz Qualcomm CPU and 512MB of RAM – both Windows Phone standards so no surprises there. The 900 also has the same Carl Zeiss – 8MP – f/2.2 aperture lens as the 800 but new to Nokia’s Windows Phone range on the 900 is a front facing camera with a 1.3MP, f/2.4 aperture, wide angled lens.
As we mentioned before, the Lumia 900 is made with LTE/4G speeds in mind and it’s here that we come to the sad point for us Irish users – the 900 is exclusive to AT&T in the USA.
Details are still bare bones at the moment but we’re waiting for word back from Nokia to find out if it will be coming to Europe in the (hopefully near) future.
We have our fingers crossed for a European release but for the moment we’ll have to make do with drooling over the photos of Nokia’s newest Windows Phone.
