Google IO 2012: 400 million Android devices activated globally so far

OK here are some crazy figures straight out of this year’s Google I/O, there have been a total of 400 million Android device activation’s across the world to date, which is 300 million more than this time last year. In addition, 1 million Android devices are activated every day. That’s over 20 devices every couple of seconds. That’s up from the 400,000 daily activations which Google announced with much fanfare at last year’s I/O.

One very cool part of the presentation, was when Google showed a heat map of the world indicating the demand for Android devices. While Europe and North America showed green, yellow and red. Colour also started to show in developing nations across Eastern Europe, South America, and Asia. Three guesses where Google and its Android partners intend to target next….
