HTC ONE HOT PRESS PHOTO-JOURNALISTS REVEALED

& ROYSEVEN LIVE VIDEO LAUNCHED ON THE INTERNET TODAY!

12 aspiring photojournalists who entered the HTC One HotPress photo journalist competition were invited to record the critically acclaimed Irish band, Royseven, at an intimate, invitation only gig in Dublin on their HTC One series phones. Their work has now been released as a pop video and distributed over the internet..  Two of the 12 have also been chosen to attend the best of this summer’s gigs and festivals, capturing photos and reporting back to HotPress on their HTC One Series phones.

Emilia Krysztofiak and Seán Conroy were selected on their material submitted from the superb event, in an intimate 4 Dame Lane in Dublin, where the 12 aspiring photojournalists captured the HTC “Most Personal Experience” Royseven gig.  The video featuring the work of all 12 finalists can also now be seen at www.facebook.com/htcie.  The two HTC One Hot Press photojournalists will now take on their first gig of the summer this weekend and strut their photojournalistic stuff at the upcoming Forbidden Fruit Festival.

 “It was a fantastic competition,”

said Hot Press editor Niall Stokes.

“The standard of the entries was so high that we ‘longlisted’ an incredible 125 – before whittling those down to 12 finalists, who were given HTC One handsets, with which to shoot the Royseven gig. The HTC One is a fantastic piece of kit and, again, the standard of the submissions, in video, words and photos was genuinely brilliant. In the end we decided that the two outstanding entrants should be given the opportunity of going to the big gigs and reporting for HTC and Hot Press.”

All of the final entries can be viewed in full on hotpress.com

“We know that there is a huge amount of talent out there,”

Stokes added.

“Hot Press has always provided a vehicle for young talent in particular and so it was a real privilege to be able to work with HTC in providing such an amazing opportunity for that talent to come through and shine. All of the finalists have a lot to be proud of – and expecially our two winners.”

Gavin Barrett, HTC Ireland Country Manager said:

“We were delighted to work with Hot Press to identify and nurture up and coming photo-journalistic talent. By giving the 12 finalists HTC One X phones, with amazing cameras, we supplied them with the technology they needed to capture the power of Royseven’s live performance – and the results speak for themselves and can be seen at www.facebook.com/htcie where we are hosting their video. It was a very difficult task to pick one overall photojournalist winner so we decided on two – so congrats to both Emilia and Seán, and we hope that they will enjoy the summer of festivals. And we look forward to seeing their feedback and pictures in Hot Press.”

The quality of the entrants was outstanding and the 12 aspiring photo journalists were given HTC One phones to continue capturing amazing photos and video.
