DICE reveal fresh details on Battlefield 3′s co-op mode.

Speaking to Gaming Lives, DICE general manager Karl Magnus Troedsson said there’ll be six co-op missions at launch, which will be unconnected to the main campaign, although they will share some environments.

There’ll be different difficulty levels and achievements, and each map should take between 20 and 50 minutes to play through.

He also confirmed co-op won’t support split-screen play, so it’s an online-only affair.

Last night, an “expert jury of national and international media, press, and trade representatives” voted Battlefield 3 ‘Best of Gamescom’. It’s not hard to see why when you watch the trailer EA put out earlier this week showing off 64-player action – including jet fights – on a map called Caspian Border.
