Dancers, Men In Black and a Hitman – Weekly Games Update

In stark contrast to last week, this week has been extremely busy for gaming and with the release of Batman: Arkham City plus Dance Central 2 next week, it shows no sign of letting up soon.

With that said lets jump into this weeks’ biggest stories.

Microsoft’s Forza series has always provided amazingly detailed car models with stunning graphics, all piled on top of real world style physics and Forza 4 – which launched this past Friday – is no different.

Top Gear has even provided the dulcet voice of Jeremy Clarkson to help advertise the game and we must say, this ad is quite impressive. Gave us goosebumps!

Forza 4 is now available exclusively on Xbox 360.

Mass Effect 3, the closing of the epic space trilogy will launch in early 2012 but already had one of the worst kept secrets of an unreleased game – it will have multiplayer.

That fact was confirmed this week after an Australian gaming magazine published their cover online which let the cat out of the bag (which was barely in the bag to begin with). It was later confirmed by the games’ lead designer, Casey Hudson via Twitter where he said:

“Yes, co-op MP missions for #ME3: they’re real, and they’re spectacular. Rest assured it’s nothing of what you’ve feared. More soon…”

The multiplayer in question is actually Co-op missions that can influence the outcome of the single player story but only if the player wishes too, and allow players to play as non-human characters for the first time in the Mass Effect Universe.

Here’s the official trailer which details more of the multiplayer aspect of Mass Effect 3.

Keeping in line with sequels with added multiplayer, Dance Central 2 launched its line of TV adverts and trailers this week to ramp up hype for its launch next Friday, the 21st.

Dance Central 2 adds simultaneous 2 players dancing along with better training modes and of course new songs and dance routines. Some of the ads are a little cringey to watch – people just don’t look that good when playing Kinect.

I’m sure many of you may have heard this week that the Men in Black 3 movie is being made, Will Smith fans rejoice. Of course you can guess why that’s mentioned here, the official Men in Black 3 videogame will release alongside the movie sometime in 2012 and two very early screenshots have leaked.

Upcoming DLC for Deus Ex: Human Revolution entitled “The Missing Link” (which we’ve mentioned before) got itself a release date this week and a brand new developer walkthrough video.

The Missing Link drops protagonist Adam Jensen into a sticky predicament without his Augmentations.

The Missing Link will be available October 18th on Xbox 360 and PC and the following day on PS3.

We had a long, fresh look at the latest entry in the infamous Hitman series this week with a whopping 17 minutes of footage.

Hitman: Absolution is the first Hitman game on this generation of consoles and so far looks to be quite similar to Splinter Cell: Conviction, although it’s too early to pass judgement just yet.
