Nokia Pops-Up One Of a Kind Phone Store on Grafton Street

This week, Nokia officially unveiled the Nokia Pop Up Store, the first store of its kind by a mobile phone manufacturer at 11 Grafton St, Dublin 2, (the former Foot Locker store beside McDonalds). Open daily (except Mondays) for eight weeks, until Saturday 10th July, the Nokia Pop Up Store offers the ultimate Nokia experience so consumers can understand how to get the very best from their Nokia phone.

A free service to the public, the store gives advice on the phone to best suit every consumer’s need, the most exciting services to compliment it, as well as how to fill your Nokia with some of the most useful and fun Apps from the Ovi store’s thousands of apps on offer. Spanning two floors in this prime retail location, the Nokia Pop Up Store has something for everyone from the super technologically savvy to those who just want to learn a bit more about their handset.

Divided into zones of experience, visitors can immerse themselves in social media, navigation services, the world of Ovi and more! The Social Media Zone shows all the fun that a phone can be used for through Facebook, Twitter and You Tube. Touchscreen units allow visitors to hop on and check their Facebook profile and join Nokia for information and chances to win.

Nokia will interact with store visitors and the online community, asking all to share their experiences, thoughts and feedback throughout the eight weeks. Another ‘Pimp My Mobile’ zone, is staffed by experts to answer queries on everything from how to access favourite social networking sites on your handset, to how to download the latest software updates and set up free satellite navigation. The Navigation zone details all the fantastic capabilities of Ovi Maps and Nokia’s new FREE navigation which spans Ireland and abroad including events, restaurant guides and even weather forecasting.

Upstairs, visitors to the store will enjoy the  ‘Nokia Presents’ stage area – a dedicated entertainment area, which will be jam-packed with a wide variety of acts over the eight weeks. Visitors will be able to enjoy an array of entertainment performances from music to comedy acts and fashion workshops to film screenings, all to be announced via the Nokia Ireland Facebook page over the coming weeks.  There will also be free WIFI and chill out areas to enjoy all Nokia has to offer over a cup of tea!

Alan O’Hara, Nokia Ireland says ‘The days when mobile phones were purely for talk and text are long gone and Nokia has foreseen this shift well ahead of time with the launch of services and arrival of the Nokia Ovi store. It is this additional value that everyone is assured of when buying a Nokia phone. Unlike other retail areas, this is not a traditional ‘sales’ store, it’s importance is in giving Nokia users a full understanding on how to get the very best from their phone, while having fun doing it. The interactive theme and layout of the space is specially created to ensure those visiting will feel welcomed and not overwhelmed by lots of technological jargon. We look forward to welcoming many over the coming weeks and getting feedback and thoughts to help us provide the best phone services in the future.’

The Nokia Pop Up Store will open Tuesdays 12pm-3pm, Wednesdays 4pm-7pm, Thursdays and Fridays 12pm-8pm, Saturdays 11am-7pm and Sunday 12pm-6pm. Opening hours may change with demand. For regular updates on what’s happening in store, become a fan of Nokia Ireland on Facebook or log onto www.nokia.ie
