Nokia Lumia 900 and HTC Radiant Windows Phones Leak Ahead of CES
Nokia have had their first Windows Phone device – the Lumia 800 – on the market for around 3 months now and their second device – the Lumia 710 – will begin to sell in the states under T-Mobile in the coming weeks.
While the Lumia 800 was generally praised, it was also criticized for having average specs and for some, the 3.7-inch screen is just too small in this world of increasingly popular 4-inch and upwards displays.
It seems that Nokia have listened to the media and the masses as the successor to the Nokia Lumia 800 has appeared online recently and if the info is true, they’ve made some changes.
Dubbed the Nokia Lumia 900 or Nokia ‘Ace’, the device is expected to be officially revealed at a Nokia Press Conference at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on the 9th of January.
Pocketnow.com have purportedly gotten a solid source dishing out info on the Lumia 900 and report that it will have a 4.3-inch screen which will use Nokia’s ClearBlack AMOLED Tech, contain a 1.4GHz Qualcomm processor and the same 12mm thickness as the Lumia 800. It will supposedly have a bigger batterry than the 800 at 1830mAh compared to the 800′s 1450 mAh battery.
The biggest potential downside to the Lumia 900, at least for us Irish users is the included rumour that the device will be exclusive to the AT&T network in North America and may not grace Europe at all.
Although keep in mind that this is all just rumoured info and that nothing is set in stone until Nokia dish the details themselves on January 9th.
On the HTC rumour front we have the HTC Radiant, a similar device to the popular HTC Titan which will purportedly have the same specs as the Titan, maybe with a bigger battery and a slightly different design – most notably on the back of the device but with the same 4.7-inch screen.
Both devices are expected to support LTE technology, the next step up from 3G speeds on mobile networks and this can account for the reportedly bigger batteries and weight in each phone.
We’ll have solid info during the Consumer Electronics Show which starts January 10th, although Nokia are jumping the queue by holding their event on the 9th.
