Canon Announces New Products for Irish Market

Canon today announced the launch of a new range of products including:

• EOS 550D – a groundbreaking new addition to its expanding, world-famous EOS range of Digital SLR cameras;
• PowerShot SX210 IS – a compact super-zoom that raises the bar in high-zoom, wide-angle photography;
• IXUS 210 – the latest and most advanced touch screen IXUS;
• IXUS 130 – the slimmest IXUS model to date, measuring just 17.8mm at its thickest point.

EOS 550D

The EOS 550D redefines the boundaries of Canon’s consumer DSLR range, incorporating technologies and features more commonly found in semi-professional DSLRs into the compact, lightweight body favoured by consumers. With a newly-developed 18 Megapixel (MP) APS-C CMOS sensor, coupled with Canon’s advanced DIGIC 4 image processor and the ability to shoot Full HD movies, photography enthusiasts are empowered to explore new levels of creativity.

PowerShot SX210 IS

Boasting a genuine Canon wide-angle 14x zoom lens, 14.1 Megapixel resolution and DIGIC 4 processing, the PowerShot SX210 IS is a superbly versatile compact camera that offers flexibility for use on any occasion. Ideal for shooting everything in incredible detail, the stunning stills are also complemented by high-quality 720p HD video with a huge zoom and stereo sound – all in a sleek, pocket-friendly metal body.

IXUS 210

Available in black, gold, silver and pink, the IXUS 210 offers a sculpted metal exterior, a 14.1 Megapixel image sensor and 24mm genuine Canon lens – delivering premium imaging performance to match its iconic IXUS styling. A newly-developed touch user interface coupled with on-screen Hints and Tips, makes capturing, browsing and sharing images easier than ever before.

IXUS 130

The IXUS 130 is also the slimmest IXUS model to date, measuring just 17.8mm at its thickest point.  The IXUS 130 features a stunning exterior and is the latest evolution of the famous IXUS design. Beautiful curved edges are complemented by a range of stylish colours – silver, black, orange and pink allowing users to pick the camera to suit both their taste and personality. A 14.1 Megapixel sensor offers incredible detail capture for large prints.

IXUS 105

The IXUS 105 boasts classic IXUS styling, combining a slim and chic body with a range of impressive functions for easy, everyday shooting. Available in silver, brown, pink and aqua, the IXUS 105 offers a choice of classic and pastel colours to project a stylish and personal feel. A bright, 6.8cm (2.7”) PureColor LCD II screen is also great for framing and viewing shots.  The IXUS 105 is also able to capture VGA movies at 30fps with sound, offering users the capacity to go beyond stills and record memories in video as well.
