The Shop has the phone / iPad, you just swipe your card (as you would do with a current Credit Card System) and sign your name while talking to the lovely register person… see loads of human contact AND you’ll get more time to chat to them cause they won’t be counting your cash…

Also, it’s 2011 and Ireland as a country is WAAAY behind the times in terms of cash usage. Ireland is one, if not the, highest users of Cash anywhere in the world. Its time to reduce the amount of cash you use and get digital / modern with payments and Square will help those smaller retailers / non-fixed location retailers Accommodate those who don’t want to carry cash / alot of cash with ‘em.

Also, not everyone will have the phones needed for this app. Personally I hate the idea.
